'Sambodhayathi' on 17th June 2011 at 'Vishranthi' - Old Age Home for destitute women saw Tejas Foundation and VS Classics - Dr. Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam come together to reach out to the society with music as a medium of expression and engagement.
The evening started off with Mrs.Gayathri Krishnamurthy, Director, Tejas Foundation welcoming the gathering. The residents were hosted to a special tea by Mr.S.Sunder, Zee Group of Companies. Dr. Subbulakshmi Natarajan, research consultant - VHS hospital, gave a talk to the residents of about 'Music, Brain and Mind' and how music can be very engaging and refreshing to the mind.
The main programme for the evening was a music concert by Dr. Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam accompanied by Anayampatti Sri Venkatasubramaniam on the violin and Sri T.R.Sundaresan on the Mridangam. This evening of music definitely was testimony to the words - 'Music has the power to bring a smile to many a face'.
